TNPF files nominations for Jaffna

The Tamil National People’s Front has filed its nomination for the Jaffna electoral district earlier today.
The party, which will contest under the All Ceylon Tamil Congress’ bicycle symbol, is standing in all 5 electoral districts in the North-East.

Three female candidates are amongst those contesting Jaffna, with the party fielding at least two female candidates in the other districts, making it the party with the most female candidates in the North-East.

The candidates are:

  • Mr Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam (Former MP and lawyer)
  • Mr Selvarajah Kajenthiran (Former MP)
  • Mr V Manivannan (Lawyer)
  • Ms S Ananthi (Retired principal of Chunnakam Ramanathan Girls School)
  • Mr T Sutharsan (President of Kurunagar Paadu Meen sports club)
  • Mr A Rasakumaran (Jaffna University lecturer, former head of Jaffna University Teacher's Union)
  • Mr T Sivakumaran (Jaffna University graduate)
  • Ms Pathmini Sithamparanathan (Former MP)
  • Ms S Kokilavaani (civil society activist, former LTTE member)
  • Mr J Veerasingam (Labour union activist, Jaffna University Employees Union)
