As thick as thieves

As 2013 winds to a close, Sri Lanka's politicians relax and unwind at a special dinner, courtesy of the Speaker, Chamal Rajapaksa at his residence.

Guests included the opposition leader, Ranil Wickramasinge of the UNP...

... the UNP's Harsha De Silva, who proclaimed that Sri Lanka's parliament was a den of thieves a couple of months ago..

 

And the leader of the TNA, R. Sampanthan, and TNA MP M.A. Sumanthiran..

 

What a difference an election can make! Laughter and smiles make a change to what Mr. Sumanthiran had to say of the President Mahinda Rajapaksa to the Tamil people the day before the Northern Provincial Council election.

Meanwhile, Mr. Sampanthan no doubt found dinner with the President, a slightly more amiable affair than his recent meeting with the Tamil people:
