Tamils in New Zealand gather to mark Maaveerar Naal

Hundreds of Tamils gathered in Auckland, New Zealand to commemorate Maaveerar Naal and pay tribute to those who died for the liberation of Tamil Eelam.

The National Flag of Tamil Eelam was hoisted by The Mother of Captain Thithipirai. Major Siva's mother lit the sacrificial lamp.

Later, at the end of the event, the New Zealand National Flag was lowered by Suntharajan, President, New Zealand Tamil Sangam.

The National Flag of Tamil Eelam was lowered by Dayakaran, in-charge of the New Zealand Tamil Coordination Committee.

The  Tino Rangatiratanga flag was lowered by Marama Davidson, Co leader of the New Zealand Green Party and member of parliament.
