Tamil man arrested and sent to CID for 'rehabilitation'

A Tamil man returning to Sri Lanka at Katunayake International airport has been detained by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), said the former Batticaloa MP P Ariyanendran.

The family of the detained was told that 30 year old Konespapillai Kugadesan was a former LTTE member and had been detained for further rehabilitation. The arrest occured on June 27.

Mr Kugadesan surrendered to the Sri Lankan army in 2006 and went to work in the Middle-East after being released.
