A 15-year old girl died after being hit by a military vehicle on Thursday morning.
Ushanthi Uthayakumar, a native of Oorkavaththurai, died of her injuries sustained after a Sri Lankan navy-owned bus crashed into the vehicle she was travelling in, on her way to her school in Velanai, one of the islets off the coast of Jaffna, in the North-East of the island.
Oorkavaththurai police arrested a member of the navy, who will be produced in court in 14 days.
