Sri Lanka's president to hold all party conference on UNHRC resolution

Sri Lanka’s president Maithripala Sirisena is to convene an all party meeting to discuss a judicial mechanism to try alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity reports, Colombo Page.

Mr Sirisena is also expected to hold a conference between religious leaders to obtain their views on the UNHRC resolution on accountability and reconciliation in Sri Lanka.

The news comes as thousands of people rallied in Colombo against the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) resolution. The demonstration was attended by several leading figures from political parties including the SLFP, National Freedom Front (NFF) Communist Party and former government ministers.
