Sri Lanka’s navy has installed permanent fences around 617 acres of Land in Mullaithivu.

A notice was published in a local Tamil newspaper stating that the Navy was going to acquire land under Section 38a of the Land Acquisition Act.

The move comes despite repeated public outcry for an end to land appropriation by the state.
