Troops from Sri Lanka’s security forces held a ‘basketball coaching academy’ for youth in Kilinochchi last month, as the military continues to involve itself in civilian activities in the North-East.

The academy was “the concept of Commander Security Forces” reports an official military website, and had “the intention of implementing the communal and military harmony in the area,” according to an official military website.

Senior military officials were present at the ceremony to hand certificates to the participants.
