Sri Lankan army builds wells in Jaffna

Sri Lankan soldiers have constructed water wells in two locations in Jaffna, including at a Saivite temple this month, according to an official military website.

The construction was reportedly undertaken “on the guidance of Major General Mahesh Senanayake, Commander SF (J), troops of 4th Battalion Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (4 VIR) and 12th Battalion the Gamunu Watch (12GW) of 523 Brigade”.

A ceremony was held at the location of the newly constructed wells near Kachchai Road and at the premises of Aiyanagar Kovil in Navatkuli.
