Sri Lanka to strengthen defence cooperation with Pakistan

The chief of the Pakistani Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt met with Sri Lankan Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa in Colombo on Thursday, and discussed strengthening defence ties between the two countries.

“Cordial discussions” were held between Rajapaksa and Butt on matters of bilateral cooperation and mutual interest, according to the Pakistani High Commission in Colombo.

Butt also held meetings with Commander of the Sri Lankan Army Lt. General Daya Ratnayake and Commander of the Sri Lankan Navy Vice Admiral Jayantha Perera.
