Sri Lanka looks to attract UK investment

The capital market industry will make a fresh push to draw investors based in the UK through a new forum launched in London.

The “invest Sri Lanka” forum, which was launched at the Savoy hotel on Thursday, sought to showcase 12 listed companies from Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka’s Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake delivered the key note address at the event, whilst the Colombo Stock Exchange Chairman Vajira Kilatilaka and Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC) Director General Vijara Wijegunerwardane made further presentations on opportunities in Sri Lanka’s capital market.

The London Stock Exchange Chief Executive Officer and Director of International Development Nikhil Rathi also attended and presented at the event, reports ft.lk.
