SLFP supports changes to 13A

The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP), the main constituent of the current ruling coalition, outlined today that it would support the implementation of the 13th Amendment along with the proposed revisions, reported Colombo Page.

Speaking to the state-run national radio, Minister Alahapperuma, indicated the party’s approval of changes to the amendment that prevented the merging of provincial councils.

However, the party also announced that it will wait until the appointed Parliamentary Select Committee confirm the revisions, before fully advocating the 13th Amendment.
