The 6400 acres of land recently seized by the Sri Lankan military in Valikaamam North has been wiped clean reports TamilNet, with buildings almost entirely been destroyed and bulldozed.
Citing villagers, who have spent months protesting against the forced displaced inflicted upon them by the militarised seizure of their land, TamilNet reports that everything except for Sri Lankan military buildings had been razed to the ground.

In April this year, the Sri Lankan government issued a notice under the Land Acquisition Act, announcing that it would seize 6,400 acres of civilian land for military purposes. The land had previously been seized from its rightful owners by the military who subsequently declared the area a High Security Zone.
The seizure of land has been the source of persistent protests by the displaced Tamils of Vali North, who were frequently harrassed by military intelligence officers.
Last month, the issue gained international spotlight, as displaced Tamils demonstrated outside the Jaffna library, during the visit of the British Prime Minister David Cameron.
