A Sinhala mob reportedly attacked Tamil families in Watapothu in Sabaragamuwa last night, leaving at least four Tamils injured.

A garage owned by a Tamil youth was the reported target of the mob of Sinhala youth, after an alleged argument had occurred between the owner and the group earlier during the day.

The mob came to the garage located in Watapothu at 9:00pm last night and broke into the property, attacking the owner, an employee, and other Tamils within the area. The mob also damaged the property and left a number of auto-rickshaws and bikes smashed. Four people were admitted to Kahawatta hospital, according to local reports.
