Conceding that it had caused 'surprise and a measure of disappointment', Mr. Sampanthan said,
"we look forward to discussing that with India in due course.”Speaking to the Tamil Guardian just outside the Plenary at the Human Rights Council, immediately after the vote, the TNA's spokesperson Suresh Premachandran, said India's decision to abstain, and vote in favour of Pakistan's motion to postpone the vote, was "the most pathetic part of the whole thing today".
Mr. Premachandran's remarks where in line with widespread criticism from Tamil and Indian actors on India's decision.
