Protestors highlight importance of eradicating violence against children

Tamil protestors gathered outside the Northern Province Chief Minister's office on Wednesday, demanding officials take action against violence against children.

Protestors called for a special court to be set up to investigate the abuse of women and children, DNA evidence to be swiftly collected and new legal provisions to enact harsh punishments against offenders.

The demonstrators then handed a petition over to Northern Province Chief Minister C. V. Wigneswaran.
