Preparations continue at Mullivaikkal despite Sri Lankan military intimidation

Despite attempts by the Sri Lankan authorities to intimidate and harass Tamils, preparations have continued at Mullivaikkal to commemorate Tamil Genocide Day tomorrow.

Clergy members joined local civil society members to help prepare the memorial site at Mullivaikkal earlier today, at the beach where tens of thousands of Tamils were massacred by the Sri Lankan military 13 years ago.

The Sri Lankan security forces watched on from nearby and have been continuing to harass, intimidate and question those involved in remembrance activities this week.
