The Jaffna-based newspaper reported that former cadres in Mullaitivu have been called for meetings and were told to inform the security forces if they had any information regarding ‘terrorist’ activities. The former cadres were also warned that if they failed to do so, what had happened in the past will happen again.
The past fortnight has seen Sri Lanka security forces step up their presence and arrest Tamils across the North-East, as the UN Human Rights Council meets to vote on a resolution calling for an international investigation in Sri Lanka.
