London Mayor Boris Johnson wishes Tamils 'Puthandu Vazthukal'

The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, wished the Tamil community in London "Puthandu Vazthukal" as they marked Chithirai Thirunaal or Tamil New Year today.

In a personal message, Mayor Johnson, praised the work and contribution of thousands of Tamil Londoners to the capital city, stating:

"I am delighted to send my best wishes to the Tamil community in London marking Chithirai Thirunal, the Tamil New Year. This wonderful time of feast and celebration gives us all the opportunity to reflect on the enormous contribution that thousands of Tamil Londoners have made to the economic and cultural well-being of our great city - bourne of a strong commitment to family and to social responsibility. I wish you every success in the future, and may I say Puthandu Vazhthukal to you all."
