Kashmir militants stormed an Indian police camp resulting in an hours long gun battle with Indian security forces which saw 8 policemen and 2 militants killed.
The gun battel started after militants stormed an Indian Government controlled police camp in southern Kashmir reports the Guardian.
The Islamist militant group Jaish-e-Mohammad claimed responsibility for the attack.
The past year has seen Indian troops kill 134 militants, with 79 of the militants believed to have been killed after crossing the border into Indian controlled Kashmir
