Karunanidhi slams Singh’s plan to meet Rajapaksa

DMK leader M Karunanidhi has hit out at Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for his “indifferent” approach towards the issue of Tamils on the island of Sri Lanka, slamming his plans to meet Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Writing in the party organ "Murasoli", Karunanidhi stated,
“At a time when Tamils, Tamil outfits and even India are seeking a resolution for an independent probe into war crimes in Sri Lanka, Singh is holding talks with Rajapaksa ignoring the sentiments of Tamils and Tamil Nadu."
Commenting on a upcoming meeting between Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa and Singh at the sidelines of a BIMSTEC summit in Myanmar, Karunanidhi added,
"I, cannot understand why the Centre and the Congress Government are doing like this".
