Indian Air Force conducts exercises with Sri Lankan troops in Amparai

An Indian Air Force (IAF) delegation conducted sky diving exercises in Amparai earlier this month, alongside Sri Lankan troops according to an official military website.

A total of 14 officers and 19 other ranks from the IAF carried out the exercise with 29 Sri Lankan soldiers from Sri Lankan Air Force MI 17 helicopters.

“Most of the IAF jumpers were well experienced combat free fallers,” said the Sri Lankan Air Force website.

Senior Sri Lankan soldiers Squadron Leader MAV Gomes and Sergeant Liyanarachchi also reportedly used Indian parachutes “for the first time on Sri Lanka soil, adding a golden inscription to SLAF parachute history”.
