Government prepared to implement capital punishment

Sri Lanka's government is prepared to implement capital punishment to put a halt to the increase in crime according to Justice Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe.

“We will try our best to prevent the increasing trend in crime and we will take steps to combat it even by implementing capital punishment,” he said, while meeting with the Buddhist Asgiriya Chapter's Mahanayake Udugama Sri Buddharakkitha.
