Former Eastern Provincial Council (EPC) member and Tamil Eelam Liberation Organisation (TELO) leader, Indrakumar Prasanna, was summoned to the office of the Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) in Batticaloa yesterday.

Two officers went to Prasanna's home on Wednesday calling on him to record a statement at the SSP office on November 11. The officers failed to explain why the former EPC member was being summoned.

This is the latest in Sri Lanka's targetting of Tamil civil society and politicians, as the state continues their surveillance and intimidation.
