Eid al-Fitr celebrated across the North-East

Muslims in Amparai, Mannar and Vavuniya celebrated Eid al-Fitr to mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan. 

Thousands gathered at Maruthamunai beach in Amparai for Eid al-Fitr prayers. 

Eid al-Fitr prayers also took place across the Amparai district in Nalipittimuna, Kalmunai, Sammanthurai, Ninthavur, Akkaraipattu and Pottuvil. 

Prayers also took place at Syed City public ground in Mannar.  

Muslims also gathered in Veppankulam, Vavuniya, Muslims to mark the day.
