Eelam Tamil students win second place in international Tamil debate

In connection with the International Tamil Youth Conference, the Science Tamil team, consisting of students from the Jaffna and Eastern Universities, secured second place in the International Public Speaking Debate competition organized by the Tirananu University of Malaysia.

In this recently held competition, the Science Tamil team, made up of students from Jaffna and Eastern Universities in Sri Lanka, emerged victorious in the first, second, and third rounds, defeating teams from countries such as India, Singapore, and Malaysia, and reached the semifinals, where they triumphed over Singapore.

Subsequently, in the final match, the team faced the Indian team and secured second place with a score of 3:2.

The team included Mohanaraj Harikrishnan, a student from the Faculty of Technology at Jaffna University, Sivakumar Dissan, a student from the Department of History, Yulet Kalaiselvan, a student from the Department of Translation Studies, and Abirami Nadulakumar, a medical student from the Eastern University.
