Bodu Bala Sena rallies against the 13A

Galaboda Aththe Gnanasara Thero, the General Secretary of the Sinhala-Buddhist organisation BBS, has joined opposition of the 13th amendment and the notion of a referendum in the island’s North-East, threatening to “come to streets with the public” as reported by the Sunday Times.

The General Secretary went on to state that the 13th amendment and a referendum would assist pro-terrorist organisations to seize control over the island’s North-East.

He added that previous elections have shown that “these parties have expanded their control over the people”, according to reports, and warned that the BBS would go on to take action against these moves.
