Attack in Amparai leaves 9 men and women injured

Unidentified persons with weapons attacked a group of civilians, leaving 6 men and 3 women admitted into hospital with injuries, reports Eastern Province based website Battinews.

A group of men brandishing sharp weapons arrived in a three wheeler rickshaw that had its registration plate removed and proceed to attack the men and women. Houses in the town of Akkaraipattu, located in the Amparai district were also damaged in the attack.

The injured have since been admitted into Akkaraipattu hospital to receive treatment.
