Annai Poopathy remembered in Batticaloa, 30 years on

The 30th death anniversary of Annai Poopathy, who fasted unto death in protest against the atrocities committed by Indian Peace Keeping Forces (IPKF), was commemorated in Batticaloa.

The memorial was led by Annai Poopathy’s family members but was well attended by locals and some politicians and local government members.
