A member of the Northern Provincial Council, Ananthy Sasitharan, met with Norwegian parliamentary officials, Friday.

In a meeting with a representative from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lasse Bkorn Johannessen and other officials, Sasitharan, outlined the  genocidal human rights violation committed by the Sri Lankan government forces. The coercive birth control of Tamil women, illegal appropriation of Tamil land and detainment of Tamil prisoners were discussed amongst Norwegian government officials.

Sasitharan went on to highlight the inadequacy of the Northern Provincial Council in serving the Tamil people and allowing their political aspirations to be realised.
