1,950 days of protest – Tamil families of disappeared continue their struggle for justice

Tamil families of the disappeared marked their 1,950th day of continuous protest with another demonstration in Vavuniya on Thursday.

The protesting relatives held banners and photographs of their forcibly disappeared loved ones. They also had American and European Union flags, as part of their appeal to the international community for an accountability mechanism to deliver justice for the disappearances.

Despite pledges made by various Sri Lankan politicians, no one has ever been held accountable for the disappearances.
