Sri Lankan army renovates Buddhist vihara in Kilinochchi

Troops from the 57 Division of the Sri Lankan army renovated parts of a Buddhist vihara in Kilinochchi last week, according to a report on the official army website.

Sri Lankan soldiers reportedly gave “their fullest support to renovate old building within few days” under the supervision of the Commander 571 Brigade Colonel Ajith Kolombathanthri.

Following the renovation, a religious ceremony was held and the chief Buddhist monk at the vihara “thanked the troops for their immense contribution”.
