Sri Lanka’s finance minister claimed that his security detail had been withdrawn this morning, as the political turmoil on the island continued.
Finance minister Mangala Samaraweera, a staunch support of Ranil Wickremesinghe, tweeted,
“President @MaithripalaS strikes again....My security was withdrawn. Aiyo...... Sirisena !!!!! #CoupLK #ConstitutionalCrisisSriLanka #illegalgovernment #FakePM #lka”.
The latest incident comes after security was reportedly withdrawn for Wickremesinghe, after Mahinda Rajapaksa was appointed to the post of Sri Lankan prime minister.
