Maaveerar Naal commemorated in Vavuniya

Maaveerar Naal was marked in Vavuniya at the urban council hall in Vavuniya town.

A court order last week had reportedly banned commemorations at Eechankulam, the only thuyilum illam in the Vavuniya district.

The Vavuniya town event followed the format of traditional Maaveerar Naal gatherings at LTTE cemeteries and included the lighting of the flame of sacrifice and honouring of Maaveerar families.
