Tamil schoolchildren escorted on tour of Palaly airport

Tamil schoolchildren from Vavuniya were taken on a tour of Palali airport by the Sri Lankan military last week.

The base is inside a high security zone, military-occupied land which remains inaccessible to locals. The Sri Lankan security forces maintains a large military base in the area, despite calls for the release of privately owned land.

The school children were shown around the base by military officials. A military website went on to state,

“The participants extended their gratitude to the Security Forces - Jaffna Commander for facilitating this memorable event after the tour”.
