Pregnant women protest demanding better maternity care at Tellipalai hospital

Tellipalai residents receiving maternity care from the local hospital protested on Thursday, demanding improvements in care standards and the appointment of a specialist obstetrician/gynaecologist.

Protestors said that 12 babies had died due to substandard care in the seven years since the Tellipalai Hospital had been released from military occupation.
