Buddhist viharas found in land released in Vali North

Tamils returned to released land in Valikaamam North to find their Hindu temples and Christian churches destroyed, and replaced with Buddhist viharas.

The land was previously held by the Sri Lankan military as a High Security Zone (HSZ).

Locals expressed concern that Sri Lankan military officers will continue to return to the Buddhist viharas for worship despite the release of land.
