Calling for action on confirming the fate of the disappeared the demonstrators also criticised the Tamil National Alliance for lack of action on the issue.

Demonstrators held banners with slogans, such as “Don’t bail out Sri Lanka form the international community” and  “Are you requiring our children for getting your votes only?”

The demonstrations were carried out by the Organisation of Missing Relations and Vavuniya Citizen’s Committee.

Armed police prevented protesters from entering the meeting hall.
