TNA using 'communal issues' to get votes - JVP

The JVP says the TNA is attempting to incite communal hatred in order to win more votes at the forthcoming elections, Colombo Gazette reports.

General secretary of the party, Tilvin Silva, said the TNA had failed to meet the expectations of the Tamil electorate and is now attempting to use communal issues to get votes.

Mr Silva also said the TNA manifesto will work in favour of former president Mahinda Rajapaksa, due to the inclusion of demands for devolution, as hard-line Sinhala groups are opposed to federalism and will aid the former president's camp in garnering votes.
